OKC Zoo Launches Red Panda Camera Online During Coronavirus Shutdown

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Officials at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden say that even though the zoo is closed due to the unprecedented COVID-19 public health emergency, it remains committed to connecting people to its animals and its expert guardians, and to create moments of wild wonder for the enjoyment of all in these uncertain times.
You and your family can now enjoy an exclusive real-time glimpse into the Oklahoma City Zoo’s Red Panda Family with the Zoo’s new Red Panda Camera online at www.okczoo.org/redpandacam.
The zoo’s red panda camera will be live stream daily through Friday, May 1, with optimal viewing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting.
Virtual tour of the OKC Zoo Sanctuary Asia Red Panda Habitat from the comfort of your smartphone, computer or tablet to watch Thomas, 6, and Leela, 5, and their offspring Khyana and Ravi, 9 months , play, eat and engage with their guardians The youngsters, Khyana and Ravi, are always on the move to climb and explore their habitat, providing hours of fun to watch.
You can also stay connected every day with “OKC Zoo @ Two”. This new digital series features an online zoo safari through keeper talks, vet exams, behind-the-scenes animal encounters and more! Segments are posted on OKC Zoo’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube) and on okczoo.org/okc-zoo-at-two daily at 2 p.m.
Red panda fans will get even cuter content during a special talk with red panda keepers presenting more information about this unique species and its new habitat at the OKC Zoo during the OKC Zoo @ Two in this Thursday.
Fans wishing to support the OKC Zoo can pre-purchase General Admission tickets and Zoo-It-All tickets online at okczoo.org/tickets with a 20% discount. These tickets can be used any day before March 31, 2021. The public can also support the OKC Zoo by donating at okczoo.org/donate for the general zoo operating fund or by becoming a member of ZOOfriends on zoofriends .org / membership. All active ZOOfriends memberships will be extended for the duration of the Oklahoma City Zoo’s closure to the public, including those purchased or renewed during closure.
